About:
What’s up everybody? My name is Darius and I’m a father, husband, educator and most of all “a brooklyn soul”. I’ve been a documentary style + streetscape photographer for a decade. My photography is meant to showcase everyday life around the five boroughs, most specifically Brooklyn and particularly people, places + things. As a Brooklyn native I attempt to document the things that most would take for granted and showcase an ever changing New York City. My work is meant to highlight a visual experience that only “a brooklyn soul” could.
This journey as a documentarian has brought me a lot of opportunities in the “Instagram era of photography”. I’ve been featured on WNYC radio’s “16 New York City Instagrammers You Should Follow” in 2013 as well as Buzzfeed’s “19 Instagram Accounts That Will Make You Fall In Love With NYC All Over Again" in 2014. In 2018, I was even one of 40 photographers published in the Dutch publication teNues/MENDO’s “Streets of New York” photo book. All of these accolades while I am extremely grateful for them have taught me a lot about how to create striking images and the power of social media. Though the digital platform has taught me a lot, nothing is more important than the arts themselves. Join me on this visual journey in what is my ode to; and love letter to the city that raised me.

Photography has historically been a powerful medium, giving a voice to the voiceless, empowering individuals to tell their own stories, foster their own narratives, and preserve moments in time. Book me for your next shoot using the following packages.
